A small skewer or spit used to broil or roast meat, fish, or vegetables. Food broiled or roasted on a small skewer or spit. It is a French word for Skewer. Cubes of Meats/Fish and vegetables are skewed and barbecued are a snack food popular across Europe. Known as Sheeq or Shish Kebabs in Turkey, they are relished in the Indian subcontinent as well. The word Sheeq means an iron rod and hence the name.
