Fifteens are a common and famous cake found mostly in the United Kingdom and especially common in Northern Ireland. Because it is a type of cake it is categorised as a baking good. The time and location of creation is not known, they are however most commonly known as a British dessert. The reason behind the name is that the ingredients are measured in singular 15 units. 15 Biscuits, 15 Cherries, etc.

Recipe
Ingredients

• 15 large marshmallows
• 15 digestive biscuits, crushed
• 15 red glace cherries, halved
• 2/3 cup sweetened condensed milk
• 1 cup sweetened desiccated coconut

Instructions

• Cut marshmallows into halves or quarters and place in bowl
• Halve the cherries
• Grind the digestive biscuits to crumbs
• Stir together with condensed milk until soft and dough-like (If dry add more milk respectively)
• Sprinkle the coconut on a clean surface
• Roll the dough mix into a long sausage (not so long as to thin it out)
• Roll the dough over the coconut
• Wrap in cellophane and refrigerate for 2-3 hours, or until hardened
• Fifteens should be kept in the fridge before and after consumption. It should be noted that condensed milk is very sweet and concentrated, children and especially infants intake should be monitored.

Also more popular in the Republic of Ireland Fifteens are made with: 15 Digestive biscuts crushed 1 Cadbury Crunchie (or similar honeycomb bar) crused 1/2 a can of Sweetened condensed milk 15 marshmallows
