Author Topic : Vegetarian Diet is Not the Best
Deviah Is vegetarian diet really healthy? Many studies have concluded that surviving on pure vegetarian diet may lead to weaker bones and mild malnutrition. Unfortunately most of the studies are based on the surveys conducted in western countries where one is vegetarian by choice – that is mostly as a grown up person. Hence may not have been totally deprived of the nutrients available in non-vegetarian diet consumed during the developing stages. And the studies have been done in the recent past. It will be interesting to know the result of such studies done on religiously vegetarian population such as India. If one goes by the physical characteristics of a pure born vegetarian, it becomes obvious that vegetarianism leads to lesser strength and stamina. The poor record of Indians in the sports also points to this – India does well in sports which do not depend on strength and stamina. During a discussion on this subject some one pointed out that vegetarians are more intelligent. But facts prove otherwise. There are more Non-Vegetarian scientists and inventors in the world than the vegetarian ones.
